The short version
We only collect what we need to run VouchU. We don't sell your personal data. You can export or delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account info: email, name, password (encrypted), or Google sign-in details.
- Profile content: photos, bio, skills, what you offer/need, social links, selfie verification image.
- Location: approximate city/coordinates so we can show nearby members. You control precision.
- Activity: swipes, matches, messages, vouches, reports, trades you complete.
- Device & log data: IP address, browser/device type, and basic usage logs for security and debugging.
How we use it
- To match you with relevant local members.
- To verify identity, fight fraud, and keep the community safe.
- To send transactional emails (matches, messages, vouches, password resets).
- To improve VouchU based on aggregate, de-identified usage.
What's public vs private
Public to other signed-in members: your display name, photos, bio, skills, offers, social links, verified badge, trust score, vouches, and reply time. Private: your email, password, exact location, messages, reports you've filed, and selfie verification image.
Who we share with
We share data with service providers who help us run VouchU (hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, payment processing). They only access what they need to do their job and are bound by confidentiality. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect users from harm. We do not sell your personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), you can:
- Access or download a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
- Object to certain uses of your data.

Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile from public view immediately and purge personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep records (e.g. fraud prevention).
Cookies & tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising trackers. Aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics may be used to improve the product.
Children
VouchU is not for anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.
